What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that has gained immense popularity in recent years due to its effectiveness in reducing fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin texture, and reducing the appearance of scars. Morpheus8 is a treatment that combines microneedling technology with radiofrequency therapy to stimulate natural collagen production, reduce excess adipose (fat) tissue, and help resurface the skin. Morpheus8 can be used on the face, neck, and body to tighten and firm sagging or wrinkled problem areas. Unlike some non-surgical cosmetic technologies, Morpheus8 works well on all skin tones. The treatment is done in-office and usually takes between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on how many areas are treated. There are no incisions, stitches, or operating rooms required.
Who is a good candidate for Morpheus8?
Good candidates for Morpheus8 treatments are men or women between the ages of 30 and 60 who have visible signs of aging. These visible signs of aging can include the appearance of sagging skin, stretch marks, sun damage, or wrinkles and fine lines. Candidates for Morpheus8 want to improve these visible aging signs without surgical intervention. Also, clients who have active acne or acne scars that do not respond well to oral or topical medications may be good candidates. Unlike some other resurfacing treatments, Morpheus8 is safe for all skin types and tones without the risk of hyperpigmentation.
Candidates should be healthy without serious medical conditions, should not smoke, and have realistic expectations from the treatment. Also, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are encouraged to undergo a Morpheus8 treatment at a later time.
An expert clinician at Alainn Medical Aesthetics can determine a patient’s candidacy for Morpheus8 after a thorough review of the patient’s medical history and physical exam. After reviewing the patient’s portfolio, they will create an individualized treatment plan to address the client’s specific concerns.

How does Morpheus8 work?
As you age, your collagen production decreases, leading to sagging skin, stretch marks, and wrinkles not only on your face but on various body areas. Morpheus8 is an advanced microneedling treatment that is a minimally invasive option for improving your skin’s appearance and contours by stimulating collagen production within multiple skin layers. Additionally, it uses radiofrequency thermal energy to restructure skin and fat for superficial and more in-depth changes to the skin. If you are wondering how Morpheus8 works, the microneedling portion stimulates new collagen production to resolve visible skin concerns while thermal energy penetrates beneath to reorganize tissue in a natural anti-aging process. Other microneedling treatments that focus on the skin’s top layer cannot achieve the contour enhancements that Morpheus8 aims to achieve. Any area of your face or body that presents wrinkles, scarring, or loose skin could benefit from Morpheus8. For a better, more innovative method to enhancing your contours and skin’s appearance, choose Morhpeus8.
What should I expect before and after my Morpheus8 treatment?
Your clinician will first numb your face with a topical anesthetic about 45 minutes before your procedure to ensure that you are comfortable. They will then apply the Morpheus8 treatment to your treatment areas, usually as you lie in a reclining position. This will take about 30-60 minutes. You may experience a slight prickling sensation from the microneedles, but the needles are so small that significant discomfort is unlikely. You may also feel heat from the radiofrequency application, but this, too, is unlikely to be bothersome. Overall, Morpheus8 treatment is very well-tolerated, and most patients say it is no more uncomfortable than plucking your eyebrows. We will then apply a medical-grade hyaluronic acid solution and a broad-spectrum sunscreen, just to further enhance results and protect the healing skin.
We recommend that patients get about three consecutive Morpheus8 treatments to achieve the best possible initial results. After that, maintenance is usually done on an annual basis. But even just one treatment will create a noticeable difference. We sometimes combine Morpheus8 with other treatments, like Lumecca, to further rejuvenate the skin for a radiant and youthful glow.
One of the biggest advantages of Morpheus8 treatment is that there is virtually no downtime. Many patients go back to work and/or resume regular activities the day after treatment. You’ll want to wait 24-48 hours before wearing makeup, and keep the area well-moisturized for 2-5 days following the procedure. You may experience some redness and a little swelling, but these should subside completely within a week, and are easily concealed with cosmetics. Be sure, however, avoid direct sunlight for a full week after treatment. As always if you are experiencing unusual pain or any worrisome symptoms, call your doctor’s office and let them know.
Because Morpheus8 works in part by stimulating natural collagen production, results will take a little while to fully materialize. You will see a difference within a few days, yes, but the most impressive results will show up at about 3 weeks, and may continue to improve for up to 3 months before stabilizing. Most patients will need between 1 and 4 Morpheus8 treatments to achieve maximum results, and those treatments will need to be spaced 4-8 weeks apart to allow skin and tissue adequate time to heal. After this initial series of treatments, you will likely only need one maintenance treatment per year.
